Movie Night

We had a great time watching this movie.  We are living in a world where each and every one of us will have to defend our faith.

Several things that I walked away with from the movie
1.  my job is to talk about my God to other people - God will do the rest  - God saves people not me- I must just plant the seed
The question I remember from others - what if you are wrong and I'm right
2.  courage to stand up and talk
3.  except a challenge each and every time:
 to praise,
share about,
tell about
my God and all he has done for me
"So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is is heaven." Matthew 10: 32-33
4.  Pray for others
5.  Seek out those opportunities to share
6.  Prayers from my children who face some challenging years ahead on high school campuses, college campuses and jobs

The Bible never fails to provide me with strength, encouragement, guidance and hope

Father/Child Campout

Jeff and Ella are off to their first HG Kids father/child camp out.  The camp out was rained out a few weeks ago and postponed until last Friday.  This has been a much anticipated event.

Saturday morning after

Sweet face
Her eyes tell it all

Part of the weekend is full of songs, devotion and encouragement from different members of our pastoral team.

This is Saturday morning after breakfast.  The dads were encouraged to pray over their children.
So glad someone captured this sweet moment for this mom.

As parents, we have to power to speak life or death into our children and over our children.
"The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63

Blessed by a Godly husband who seeks God to lead and love his family.

Happy Spring

Meme has bought Ella some new clothes but it has been a little chilly to wear them.  She was able to wear her first new dress to church on Sunday.
Her friend Kelsey from dance spent the day with us on Monday.  Dying Easter Eggs was on the list of things to do.

Breakfast with Mom

I was unable to eat breakfast with Ella at school for Muffins With Mom so we created this at home and included the boys.

We are usually running in all directions in the mornings to pack lunch boxes, eat breakfast, completing reading logs, signing agendas, making coffee or hot chocolate.  This morning we all sat down to enjoy doughnuts.
Seth 6th, Ella 2nd and Garrett a freshman

Seth leaves 1 hr and a half after we do so he was not dressed and ready.
Love my children

"Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.  Like arrows in the hangs of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate."  Ps. 127:3-5
My quiver is full

Seth on tacky day at school.  I would say he pulled this off.  His bus driver was concerned when he showed up for the bus.  He asked him "Where are your britches?"

White moving van again

Not sure what we are hauling this time.  We have a new love/hate relationship with the white moving van.
I think this trip was hauling off Salvation Army goodies to clear our more space in the garage.

Ella and Nica had a play afternoon.  Nica is from the Philippines.  Her mom teaches across the hall from me.

I had not seen Seth all day since I left for school.  When I picked him up, we were matching.

My boys go from athletic clothes on week to khakis and sweaters the next.

Garrett coming home from his first job interview.  He interviewed at the ice rink, of course, for helping with hockey summer camp.  Not sure it will feel like a job if you are having fun.  Just where he loves to be - on the ice

Pete and Repeat - eating ice cream.  We have an addiction to ice cream.  It is a must after dinner.

DNOW 2013

DNOW was a family experience this year.  Seth was participating for the first time.  Jeff and I were a host home for 12 - 15 year old boys.

This is Seth on his way to DNOW before the weekend even starts.  He was exhausted from a week of school.  I am now sending him off to stay up late for 2 nights with a group of boys.  Gonna be a long weekend.

6th grader - 1st DNOW

Saturday afternoon was a free afternoon.  We had an incredible beautiful afternoon so the boys went to a park to play frisbee football.

Team 1

Team 2  the dads and our college team leader are in the group

Yes, everyone in my house
16 total including Jeff and I

This is knee hockey on Saturday night.  Friday night, Jeff and I heard this at 3am in the morning.

Knee hockey tournament

I bet there was $1000.00 worth of tennis shoes parked here

What a fun weekend hosting the boys

Blessed by a church that invest in youth and pours into them wisdom of truth.

This was our practice run for Cindy Lou Whoo

Thanks to meme for finding all the pieces of our outfit.

First Grade was in charge of snacks for the staff meeting.

Another Snow Day

Since the last snow was such a disappointment, we were not sure what this snow call would do.  Well, this one was a big surprise.  It started while we were finishing our school day.  We had an early release but after being at school for about 20 minutes the early release was moved up.  We were eating lunch at 10:00
Betsy, Nica, Emma and Ella
1st grade teacher kiddos

Mrs. Gopun from the Philippines, who never sees snow, was just as excited as the kids.

This was my view of snow before I left school

As soon as I got home, I opened all the windows to see it snowing.  A big thing about where we live is snow usually comes at night and we wake up to white.  I loved this snow because we were able to watch it happen.

Out the door we go - ready for adventure

Sledding was a big flop - not the best snow

After snow fun, we headed in the do our reading response.  Not the funniest time for my stressful girl.

All better with hot chocolate

I wonder how many sunrise pictures I will have over the years.  I love this view.
