Traveling Weekend

Beautiful Weather

We have  been blessed with some beautiful weather.  Every afternoon, the pictures below seems to be what we do.

Garrett started lacrosse a few weeks back.  Both boys bought new lacrosse sticks.

I like this picture.  Seth pretty much sleeps with his.  This was him one morning.
He had it in his room and brought it out with him one morning.

Seth loves to ride the four - wheeler.  This boy would love to have
land out in the country.  I'm afraid we would never see him.

Garrett coming up the hill with stick in hand.  He helped his dad with a few projects but the stick
went everywhere he went.  He hardly lays it down.  Reminds me of the days
when he was 2 and 3 with a hockey stick in his hand.
Practice last night - little blurry but wanted to remember this
Even though our weather has been incredible.  I love my coffee.  Ahh!  Starbucks opened a new store that has a drive thru.  Big mistake for me.  Too easy to buzz through and order
It makes it worst because I have gift cards.
Regular coffee with caramel flavoring and creme.
Love it.

Ella and I made our way to our cousins house to ride horses.  Ella jumped on the four-wheeler with Cooper, who is 5.  Cooper is the driver.  That boy just zooms around the farm like he means business.
They were going to catch the horse.

The early spring draws us outside each day.  Loving the warm weather.
Spring reminds me that all things dead become new again.

God is amazing in his creation.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The green came out at our house.  We did several projects leading up to
St. Patrick's Day.

We had Rainbow pancakes.
They were not really sure about eating them.

Burger King was offering free fries with green ketchup
on St. Pats Day.  Seth was the only one brave
enough to eat it.  He saved Ella a pack
of ketchup but she would have nothing to do with it.  Ha
ps.  remember a few years ago when they came out with green and purple ketchup.  I
was the same way - could not eat it

They each got green surprises on St. Pats Day.
Mt. Dew and Snackwell cookies in a green pack
Lots of fun.
Mt. Dew is a treat at our house.  I even let them drink
it for breakfast so by bed time all the sugar would
be out of their system.

Ha.

Goodnight, Goodmorning

Right before bed, Ella decided to read dad a bedtime story.  Ha!
I told you she was a reader now.  EVERYTHING.

So the next morning, this is where we found her.
On the couch.
She is beginning to wake up.  That is the best part about being at home.
Seeing my kids wake up on their own.
Not waking them up, fighting, grumpy and mean.

She doesn't look to nice in this picture.  I think because she saw I had the camera.
Their is nothing sweeter than a children first waking up.

God is good.

All Things Ella

Since I have not been very faithful in posting, this is going
to be catch.  So I am starting with all things Ella.
She is such a character at our house.

She never ceases to amaze me with all her doings.

She has been wanting curls in her hair but the idea of
rollers doesn't thrill her.  She finally decided that we could curl her hair.

She sat for 45 minutes

The back view.  I guess I need lessons in curling little girl hair
because we took the rollers down to find straight hair.
(Why I didn't take an after picture I have no idea).

This is her idea of a tent.  She built this all day so that she
could sleep here.  By the way, she slept her for one night
on the hard floor.  Since it is in the middle of the den, I made
her clean it up after she got up.  She wanted this to be her
new sleeping spot.
.
WE HAVE A READER.
Now that she can read simple beginner books, she wants to read all the time.
Anybody that will listen, she will read.  That is a big deal.
She wants to know how to spell everything and read everything.

Journal time in the morning.  Every morning the kids have a topic.
Each one writes on the same topic.  I set the timer for 7 minutes.
The pencil cannot stop moving.  I am trying to encourage them to just get
their thoughts on the paper and not really thing about the mechanics of writing.

Hopefully this will help later in their writing.
Ella and Garrett are doing BrainPop together.
This is an app for the Ipad.  So cool.
Listen and watch a video each day then answer 10 questions.
This little one keeps us on our toes.
She is a light at our house that shines bright.  Her spirit is incredible.
After you have been with Ella, you are happy, exhausted and filled with love.
