The Day Had Arrived . .

The day had arrived for Garrett's Wisdom Teeth Surgery.  I know you may ask - that's a little young.  Well we though so to but the oral surgeon gave us two choices.

1.  Have surgery

2.  Have a permanent retainer installed and wait a year then have them
removed

Garrett was pulling for option 1 but his parents wanted option 2.  The power of being the adult.

Leaving for the doctor with dad

Home at last  - the first of many icing that we did over the course of 4 days.  It is amazing how the ice packs felt better than the pain.
Meme stopped by soon after to deliver 10 frosty from Wendy's.  Garrett's liquid diet for 3 days.

Ella couldn't believe he could have 3 milkshakes a day.
Many naps took place over the course of the first day and the 2 days following.  Garrett would wake up a realize 4 hours had passed.  He was amazed.
As Garrett slept in the recliner, little miss choose the couch.
Nice have portable electronics that would pass the time away while this active 13 year old had to sit in a chair to recover.
This was where Seth was for most of the two days that Garrett was in the recliner.  They would each just sit and play games.
Camp out in the living room.  Seth and Ella were very protective of Garrett.  Both wanted to be right beside him for most of the day.  So when bed time came, everyone decided to camp out in the living room.  Too Sweet.
Day 2 brought about eating more frosty.  Garrett's favorite thing to eat was warm jello that had melted into runny jello.  He thought that was the best tasting stuff ever.
Our famous pose when it comes to eating ice cream.
Day 3 was the worst day for swelling.  Garrett kept rubbing his check.  The left side in the picture only had one tooth removed.  The right in the picture had the top and bottom.  The doctor warned us that Day 3 would be the worse for swelling since he had to do some extra work on that side.

Day 3 and 4 brought about napping and liquid diet.

Day 5 and 6, Garrett hit an eating frenzy.  He can't get full but still eating limited soft food.

He is hoping and wishing for the day that he can eat a Chick Fil A chicken sandwich.  That is the food he is dreaming of first.

So proud of his courage.  He had done amazing.

First real surgery with being put to sleep, stitches and recovery.

Great stories after waking up from surgery.  Memories.
