My husband started training 13 weeks ago for the Thunder Road Half-Marathon in Charlotte. Each day he would start his day around 5:30 and run. Did you hear me 5:30!!! I continued to snooze. Well each Sunday was the big run day, 8 miles, then 9 miles , then 10. Well today was the day, the big half-marathon. He ran with a good friend, Steve. He left home at 5:40 this morning. He started running at 7:50am at 27 degrees. Meanwhile, the children and I went to Garrett's hockey game. After the game, we went downtown to watch him cross the finish line. We made it with 10 minutes to spare. He wanted to finish in 2 hours. He DID IT IN 1:59:56. We are so proud.
As Ella said, " My daddy had a race today and he got a medal".
Got to love the silver blanket. He has not been feeling well this week but he accomplished a great thing today. 13. 1 miles Half-Marathon
Another note, we made our traditional gingerbread houses on Friday. This year I was able to find a gingerbread village. So each person got to make a little house. We love the icing.
Christmas play at church tomorrow. Wait until you see who donkey is????
