Final Day of Coop for This Year

We were getting ready to head out the door to coop yesterday.  We enjoy coop so much.  We are always inspired, challenged, and refreshed when we leave. 

We were delayed since we had a weather day yesterday.  Mrs. Carman talked to us about why Satan wanted the weather day and for us not to meet yesterday.

We were studing Jesus crucifixion and resurrection.  Satan didn't want us to talk about that.  It is the cross that matters.  Not how much money you have, not how educated you are, not about how many rewards you have -

IT IS ABOUT THE CROSS!!

Our wish as parents is for our children to have a love for the LORD, share the gospel with others and live out His truth's is their life.  There would be no greater JOY.

Thank you God for giving us our children to raise and to teach them in your Word.  They are such a gift.

Excitement at Our House

The Peoria Rivermen took the 2010 Fall Squirt Metro League championship with an overtime goal to outlast the Chicago Wolves 2-to-1. Both teams scored in the first period, with the Rivermen getting on the board at the 7:45 mark and the Wolves tying it up at 3:45. The game remained tied until the overtime goal came at the 9:00 minute mark. The Rivermen also won the regular season series three games to two, but the overall goal differential was only one goal.

Seth's team after the game.  What great coaches he had.  Seth played his heart out.  He was on every penalty kill, every power play, and he had several shots on goal.  We were on the edge of our seats the entire game.  We knew how much he wanted to beat this team.

Ella had ballet watch day on Tuesday.  This is right before we went in.  (Not sure what is up with all the poses)

I could just eat her.  She loves ballet and Mrs. Bonita.  I didn't take any pictures inside.  I didn't want to distract her. 

Our busy life continues . . .

A Homeschool Day At Our House

Ella is making cards for her grandparents.  It is so great to watch her "get it".  She is beginning to sound out words and write the letters she hears.  She enjoys decorating cards, letters, and pictures.  Sometimes it is just random letters on a sheet of paper.  But this is the first steps in knowing that letters make words.  (By the way, it is probably around 11:00am here.  She loves her pajamas.  She lives in her pajamas.   Even if we have been somewhere and she is dressed, she will come home and put on her PJ's.  This girl loves to be at home)

Seth is taking his Wordly Wise Vocabulary Test.  (The Jesse Tree is behind him)  Fun to read the Line from the Old to New Testament to "get to" Jesus.

Garrett is working on Critial Thinking.  This has been their favorite thing this year.  We just added it to our curriculum this year.  It is short and sweet but they enjoy doing it.  They are working on imagery right now. 

School at home is such a blessing to us.  We enjoy being at home together and interacting together, especially during this Christmas season. We enjoy doing craft projects, reading stories, playing toys and being together.

We are ready for the Christmas Break.  Today is the day.  Off until Jan. 4th.  Yipee.

Tis the Season

Tis the Season for busy, busy, busy.  We have been on the go everyday.  Jeff and I had two Christmas Parties this week.  One party was for our SS Class.  Jeff and I felt called to teach a Young Married Couples Class for sometime now.  We or I do a very good job at questioning God and saying "really?"  Me??  We prayed about it for some time but just talked about what we felt God was calling us to do. 

I believe God walks you through trails and valleys so that when you come out on the other side you are called to mentor to others who may need your guidance.  I truly feel that is why God called us to teach this class.  Marriage is work, hard work - EVERYDAY.  Marriage with children is even more of a challenge.  Now that Jeff and I are on the mountain of marriage at this point in our lives, we are using that as our platform to learn and grow but to share.  The picture is from our Young Married Couples class SS party.  What fun!! I realize I am middle aged - YIKES.  (how did that happen) I still feel young

This is Ella and mom - she is getting ready to go to her favorite performance of all times - The Nutcracker.  She loves a show.  Mom took Ella for the second year in a row.  What memories she will have of these fun times.

Heading out to church yesterday.  We wore our Christmas clothes.  We will be out of town playing hockey next weekend which is the Sunday before Christmas.  Our tradition is to have matching clothes as a family.  I just love these little people.  They make my heart sing hum.

Sittin' on His Lap

We went to see Santa.  We have been talking about it for a few days.  Ella decided that she was wanting to give her list to Santa.  This is on the way to Concord Mills to Bass Pro Shop.  She her letter in her hand. 

Ella's eyes got huge when she saw him for the first time getting ready to start taking pictures.

She actually sat on Santa's lap and didn't cry.  Seth was wondering if he was too big.  Garrett didn't even want to go there at all. 

This bear was at the entrance to a candy shop where we bought apple.
