The Select Team that Garrett plays on headed to Winston-Salem this past weekend. This was his ride to Winston
The Hockey Mobile - it has been redone on the inside - TV - game system - couch - pillows
What a ride!
The defense on the bench. Can you find Garrett?
Before the trip, Garrett had practice at the Extreme. His coaches had a meeting with the whole team. They decided to have the players/coaches to vote on a team captain that would remain the same for the rest of the season. Before, the team captain and assistants would change. Each game was a different person. So before leaving for Winston, the players each voted for a captain and an assistant.
Before this game, the coaches announced the Captain for the team.
Garrett was voted captain by his teammates and coaches.
He was so excited.
What an honor. We are so proud of him. We talk to him constantly about character on and off the ice.
Middle Schoolers have a hard time finding their place. Standing up for what you believe, standing strong to certain actions, and not following the crowd is hard. We have had many conversation about this.
Locker room behavior, representing your team in the hotel, behavior off the ice, behavior and actions on the ice, playing your best even when things aren't going your way, good sportmanship
This what is it all about - TEAMWORK -
Every team needs a good leader - a good captain
Garrett, we are so proud of you. You make our heart sing with what you stand for each and everytime you are around your teammates. We hope this will be a building block for you as you carry on and hold your shining light for God in the hockey mission field.
What a fun weekend
